Ski Review 2021/2022: Men High Performance

Men who like to speed up on the slopes, but for whom the racing models are too aggressive, will find the right ski among the high-performance models. Fast descents, precise turns and smooth running are no problem for these technically high-quality all-rounders. If you have the necessary athleticism and a bit of stamina, you'll experience a good portion of skiing fun with these models.

Versatile driving fun at top level

Whether on the groomed slope or on race tracks, whether short radii or long carving turns - the High Performance models for men offer a wide range of possibilities. They combine the best features from giant slalom and slalom, but are less aggressive than the GS and SL models. This makes them an ideal alternative for sporty skiers who are looking for downhill runs with speed but also want to save energy.

At this year's WorldSkitest, the testers were able to convince themselves of the high quality of the High Performance models in ideal conditions on the Mölltal Glacier. The result was top ratings with "excellent" and "very good" overall marks across the board.

Target group: Sporty to highly athletic piste skiers

Test winner: Fischer The Curv

Fischer's The Curv convinced the testers all along the line and with 40.7 points and the test score "excellent" deservedly lands in first place in the Men High Performance category. The model combines the versatility of an all-rounder with the performance of a thoroughbred racing ski. It shows its strengths especially in long carving turns. Thanks to the Radical Triple Radius, however, it is also extremely dynamic on short radii. Because the testers also liked the look, The Curv additionally won the silver medal in the "SnowStyle Award" in the Men High Performance category.

As in the women's category, second place goes to Stöckli. The Laser SX from the Swiss ski manufacturer also achieves the rating "excellent". The Turtle Shell technology ensures that the ski adapts optimally to the rider's preferences. This is also reflected in the consistently high scores. The Laser SX scores top ratings for both long and short turns, edge grip and stability at speed.

Third Place: Atomic Redster X9 S Revo

The Redster X9 from Atomic is an old acquaintance on the podium of the high-performance models. Although the winner of the last three ski tests "only" gets the bronze medal this year, it can once again convince the testers with its versatility. Even in the upper speed range, the ski runs smoothly and offers stability as well as reliable edge grip. Long carving turns are especially fun with the Redster X9. Its epithet Revo comes from Atomic's new Revoshock technology, which provides additional damping, makes the ski run even smoother and gives the rider more control.

Knock knock. I've looked all your tests results and I've got one big question. Where are the Head skies?!?
I think these tests are quite incomplete without them.

Hi there, we can only test the ski brands that make themselves available for the WorldSkitest. That is why there are no ratings for Head skis.
