Völkl BMT 109 (Backcountry Touring Ski 2019/2020)

Product Summary

The Völkl BMT 109 is the perfect tool during both downhill rides and steep ascents. Thanks to its low weight, the ski is easy to master even on longer trips. The Völkl BMT 109's full retail price is €1,000. The Ski costs roughly €390 more than the average price of all Backcountry Touring Skis, making it a real luxury Ski. Skilled skiers will enjoy both relaxed cruising and pushing the ski to its limit. The BMT 109 is a pure freeride ski. Riding on groomers is no problem but due to its fairly wide waist the ski has a strong bias towards powder runs. Available lengths for the ski are ranging between 166 and 186cm.

The ski in details

A dream- come-true in every backcountry environment. With a full carbon construction and lightweight multi-layer wood core, it features full rocker and an early-taper sidecut, for true big mountain versatility after a self-powered ascent. It also features the added advantage of the ICE.OFF topsheet, designed to keep snow and ice from adhering to the topsheet to keep the lightest possible setup. Also available are pre-cut, climbing skins.
