Salomon QST 98 (Powder Ski 2023/2024)

Product Summary

The Salomon QST 98's full retail price is 630 €. The Ski is roughly 50 € cheaper than the average price of all Powder Skis, making it a mid-range model. The ski is very smooth and forgiving. It's the perfect tool for intermediate skiers. The QST 98 is a more off-piste oriented ski which rides great in deep powder. Thanks to its versatility however, it is also fun on groomers from time to time. The ski is available from 169 to 189cm. The ski is very agile and performs well in all sizes of turn radius - both long and short. The radius ranges from 15 m to 18 m (depending on the length of the ski).

The ski in details

Salomon can't guarantee you'll ski the QST 98 like Nico Vuignier, but Salomon is sure you'll love its innovative freeride shape, for which this ski wins awards year after year. The 98's full-length double sandwich sidewalls and Cork Damplifier provide stability in the park as well as in deep snow - the rocker and traditional camber make this ski a favourite for all.

Playful and agile
Progress meets form. Salomon lowered the widest points and lengthened the ski's rocker to bring playfulness and reliability to all turns.

All-mountain versatility
The innovative shape and 98 mm waist make the QST 98 a versatile companion - whether you want to chase fresh snow, try side hits or enjoy freshly groomed snow.

Reliable stability
A C/FX carbon backbone and double sidewalls make for a powerful ski with strong edge hold. Cork inserts on tip and tail prevent the ski from chattering and ensure a smooth, playful ride.

Technologies

Full Poplar Woodcore
A full Woodcore construction maximizes liveliness, stability and ski-to-snow contact while filtering vibrations.

C/FX
C/FX is a fiber layer consisting of Carbon and Flax woven together. It combines the strength, stability, minimal weight of carbon with the increased level of dampening of the flax.

Full Sandwich Sidewalls
Full Sandwich Sidewalls guarantees stability and precision, it enhances performance by providing good edge grip and smooth ski-to-snow contact.

Ti Binding Reinforcement
A titanal insert edge-to-edge underfoot, running throughout the ski, for maximal power and increased hard snow edging.

Cork Damplifier
Cork is three times more absorbing than Koroyd. Using it in the tip of the ski enables a high level of vibration absorption and dampening with even less weight.

Tail Protector
Increased ski longevity: keeping skis visually attractive even after intense use.
