The Ski Resort
The family snowland Simonhöhe in Carinthia offers winter sports fun on 13 kilometres of slopes.
Those who count themselves among the newcomers in alpine winter sports should first explore the slopes around the 1,340-metre Paulsberg. These can be reached via the Paulsberg and Nord lifts and are all marked in blue. Only the short Winterleitn run is marked red. But it can be bypassed via the easy Silberkrug descent.
Advanced skiers and snowboarders reach the Hocheck via the Simon, Hocheck and Bärental lifts. From there several red and black marked slopes start, like the steep slope slope, the slalom slope or the Bärental slope.
The smallest can practice their first swings together with the mascot Simonhoppel in kids park. The team of the ski and snowboard school Erik Schinegger will help you. The most popular piste for kids is the Märchenwald downhill run. This was lovingly designed with numerous figures, which keep exciting story broads.
Freestyle fans are happy about the funpark on the Simonhöhe. This can be reached via the Hocheck lift.
Interesting facts
- The vertical drop from summit to base is 350 m. The average difference in altitude between base and summit of Ski Resorts in Austria is 720 m. Runs and slopes are therefore relatively short. The highest point of the track is 1,340 m above sea level.
- The day pass at Simonhöhe - St Urban is €39.90 making it one of the 10 cheapest ski Resorts in Carinthia.
- Average snow depth during the season is 48 cm at summit elevation and 46 cm at base elevation. Snow coverage is usually best during January, offering an average snow depth of 51 cm at summit elevation and 46 cm at the base.
- Simonhöhe - St Urban features 43 sunny days on average per season. The average for all ski Resorts in Austria is 34 sunny days. January is the sunniest month with an average of 19 sunny days. This makes the ski resort one of the 5 sunniest in Austria.

On Mountain Dining
Three mountain restaurants three mountain restaurants are available for you to choose from for a leisurely break. The Jausenstation Winter, which scores with a great sun terrace, is located at the Silberkrug descent. Also on the top of the Hocheck one can strengthen oneself with delicious hut delicacies. At the bottom station of the Sonnenlift the Almgasthof invites you to take a break. If you just want to relax and enjoy the sun, you can make yourself comfortable on one of the loungers in the ski area.

Die Märchenwald Downhill (J) starts on the Paulsberg and leads winter sports enthusiasts through the snow-covered forest. For all freestylers the Funpark is an absolute must!

Activities
22 kilometres of cross-country trails stretch through the idyllic winter landscape around Simonhöhe and St. Urban. Fun for young and old is promised by the ice rink, which is ideally suited for ice skating or ice stick shooting . Toboggan fans can take a fast ride into the valley on the nature toboggan run.

By car:
From Klagenfurt you take the L69 and L70 via Pitzelstätten and Flaning to Glanegg. Change there to the B94. After about three kilometres, turn right onto Glantalstraße (L68a) and drive via St. Urban to Simonhöhe.
With public transport:
The nearest airport is in Klagenfurt. Travellers by train can travel to Klagenfurt or Villach railway stations. From there we take the bus via Feldkirchen to St. Urban. During the holidays, a free ski bus takes winter sports enthusiasts from St. Urban to Simonhöhe.
