The Ski Resort
With 22 runs, 17 lifts, a terrain park and a summer toboggan run, the Chinese ski resort Nanshan boasts an extensive offer for lovers of snow sports. Various restaurants as well as a play area for the children make it complete.
The slopes are well suited for beginners: there are 13 blue runs, four magic carpets, and a ski school, to help with your first turns on skis. More advanced skiers will also get their money's worth on ten intermediate to difficult runs. Furthermore, there is a small off-piste area that includes a wave and mogul run.
Freestylers can get wild at Nanshan Mellow Snowboard Park, where you can explore halfpipes and obstacles of various difficulty levels. Good conditions are secured by 29 snow cannons and four snow cats. The season usually goes on from late November to early March.

Terrace Restaurant & Pub serves Western fare, coffee and beer. A selection of popular Chinese specialities is offered at Nanshan restaurant, Dahuatang North-East, and Hot Snack Bar. At Canada Ski Café you can find cake, coffee, and Canadian sweets. Lavender Tea House at the ski resort's highest point features exquisite French lavender tea, coffee and snacks.

Activities
The ski resort is especially popular with fans of toboggan, even featuring a 'German toboggan', a summer toboggan going from the summit of Nanshan mountain all the way into the valley. Furthermore, two slopes of the ski resort are open for sleighrides.

Getting here
By car: Nanshan ski resort is located 62 kilometres north-east of Bejing city centre. Via Jincheng expressway you can drive there in about half an hour. Exit at No.16 (Miyun downtown Exit) and follow the signs to the ski resort.
By shuttle bus: shuttle buses go at 8.30 every morning from the stops Sanyuan Bridge and Wudaokou Subway in Bejing city centre. They go back at 17.30. To make sure you get a seat, you should reserve one day in advance.
By public bus: bus line 980 goes from Dongzihmen to West Bridge. From there, take a taxi to Nanshan.
