Only one pass for Saalbach, Schmitten and Kitzsteinhorn

Big change in three important ski resorts around Salzburg: From winter 2019/20 only the common Alpin Card for Schmitten, Kitzsteinhorn-Maiskogel and Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn will be sold. The tickets provide access to 408 kilometres of slopes and 121 cable cars and lifts. Daily and multi-day rates for the individual ski areas will no longer exist.

Cooperation of seven mountain railways

On Lake Zell, the representatives of the seven mountain railways have sealed the new network.
On Lake Zell, the representatives of the seven mountain railways have sealed the new network.

After the year-round version of the Alpin Card was introduced last year, the seven mountain railways from Salzburg and Tyrol have now agreed on daily, multi-day and season tickets. At a ceremony on the MS Schmittenhöhe on Lake Zell, the cooperation agreement for the new ticket network was signed.

From the coming winter, the same prices apply in all three ski regions and it is possible to switch back and forth between the places as the mood takes you. Own tariffs are completely eliminated. An adult pays in the high season now everywhere 56.50 euros for a day ski pass.

This means that there are 121 lifts, 408 kilometers of pistes, almost 100 mountain huts as well as numerous children's countries, ski routes, theme trails and snow parks. For nearly 100 million euros this summer will also be invested in innovations in the three ski regions.

10 euro rate for children

The already well-known and very popular "Power of Ten" must not be missed in the new tariff association. Children and adolescents up to the age of 19 pay only 10 Euro every Saturday for the day ticket.

Attractive for families is also the Easter bonus, if children between 4.4. and 13.4.2020 are skiing for free as soon as a parent buys a 4-day ski pass. Toddlers, born in 2014 and later, will be able to use the miniAlpini Card free of charge for the whole season at all lifts.

This awaits you in the three ski regions

Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn

For years, the Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn has been one of the most popular and varied ski resorts in Austria. With 270 km of pistes, 70 lifts and more than 60 huts, the "Home of Lässig" is the third largest ski resort in the Alpine republic. Millions are invested here every year: For the new 2019/20 season, for example, the old Zwölferkogel lift at the World Cup track will be replaced by a new 10-passenger gondola lift.

Kitzsteinhorn-Maiskogel

Snow-sure glacier skiing fun awaits skiers at the over 3000 meter high Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun. Starting in the winter of 2019/20, a long-cherished generation dream will come true here: the new 3K K-ONNECTION connects Kaprun's Maiskogel mountain with the Kitzsteinhorn. You can then switch back and forth between the family mountain and the glacier. Around 70 kilometers of pistes will be available here in the future.

Schmitten

The ski area on the Schmittenhöhe can score with a unique panorama of Lake Zell. The approximately 77 kilometers of downhill are distributed almost equally to all levels of difficulty. The variety of theme Slopes and modern lifts not only inspire families. Investments are made for the new season. For example, the first section of the zellamseeXpress is being built, which will also allow access from the Glemmtal to the ski area from December 2019.

League of the most expensive ski resorts

With the new tariff of 56.50 Euro (high season day ticket), the Alpin Card ski areas play in the league of the most expensive ski areas in Austria. Only Kitzbühel is in the coming winter season with 58 € even better. Ski Arlberg, the largest ski area in Austria (305 km), also charges 56.50 euros. With 408km, the Alpin Card network offers even more downhill runs, but these have not yet been connected seamlessly via cable cars (see map above).

The old ski pass fares, which were earlier cheaper in all ski areas, are completely eliminated. This certainly meets with criticism of many day trippers who have no time in one day to switch between the three ski areas with ski bus or car back and forth. For comparison: In Saalbach last day's ski ticket cost 55 euros, on the Schmitten and the Kitzsteinhorn only 53 euros. At Maiskogel even only 40 euros. Due to the connection of Kitzsteinhorn and Maiskogel via the 3K-Bahn, the latter would have been significantly increased anyway.
