Völkl VTA 80 (Backcountry Touring Ski 2019/2020)

Product Summary

Due to its lighweight construction the Völkl VTA 80 is easy to handle not only downhill but also during longer ascents. The Völkl VTA 80's full retail price is 400 €. The Ski is roughly 210 € cheaper than the average price of all Backcountry Touring Skis, making it an affordable entry-level model. The ski is very smooth and forgiving. It's the perfect tool for intermediate skiers. The VTA 80 is a more off-piste oriented ski which rides great in deep powder. Thanks to its versatility however, it is also fun on groomers from time to time. The ski is available from 150 to 175cm.

The ski in details

A special Tourlite wood core and VTA Superlite Outline have been integrated into the VTA80 to further trim weight. The ICE.OFF topsheet lessens snow and ice weight to 20-30%. Additionally the Tip Rocker profile provides lift and makes it easier to initiate turns in any condition, especially for women or younger touring skiers.
