Modern lifts, good signposting and free Wi-Fi

Where to start when discussing the topic of service in such a well thought-out ski area as Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn? Let's get the ball rolling with the lifts. As already described in the advanced skier category, there are only good things to say about the lifts. There are only a handful of the ski areas in the Alps that can boast this many fast and modern lift systems. Almost all the lifts are quick gondolas or chairlifts, most of the latter being fitted with a protective hood and some even with under-seat heating. State-of-the-art gondola lifts were also constructed for bridging the mountain range to connect with Fieberbrunn. The only possible criticism: There are a lot of gondolas in the ski area (28!). This means taking off your skis at regular intervals. The trail grooming is outstanding. In total, the 270 km of runs are freshly groomed during the night by 60 grooming teams. If snow levels are dwindling, no less than 927 snow cannons ensure a steady supply of artificial snow. 12 small reservoirs were specially created for sourcing the required water.

    30 Wi-Fi hotspots

In addition to the fantastic lifts, ski lodges, mountain restaurants and après-ski bars are well distributed throughout the ski area, meaning that you don’t have to ski far to find a place to go. 30 free Wi-Fi hotspots ensure that you can quickly upload any pics and videos you shoot on the mountain. The signposting is also outstanding. Large information boards ensure good orientation throughout the ski area, while the ski tours as well as the connections between Saalbach and Fieberbrunn are specifically and clearly signposted.

    Car park or parking garage?

In total, there are more than 10 entry points to the ski area, with the most important ones all offering free parking. However a word of caution here: If you park in the parking garage by mistake, e.g. in Saalbach, then expect to pay €10 per day. This is probably something you will want to avoid given the fact that the ski area has the highest one-day ski pass prices in Austria. At every one of the ski resorts, there is an option for hiring ski or snowboard equipment close to the valley station of the lifts.

    Wide selection of accommodation

There are few ski areas in the Alps which offer such an abundance of accommodation – ranging from five-star hotels through to low-budget family apartments. Lots of money has been invested into hotels here over the past few years, particularly in the premium segment. These high-class hotels are largely located in Hinterglemm, while Leogang is primarily designed to cater for families.

Of course, the weather situation plays a big role in the service. Nevertheless, the area is always trying to create the best slope conditions. The service takes place during the closed hours of the... Read complete review

All main runs are snowed. The slopes are almost always perfect. The lifts are replaced annually. It's going to be a huge investment.
