The ski and sports centre Bad Sachsa around the Ravensberg is ideally suited for families with children, with its manageable network of downhill runs of 4,400 metres and three T-bar lifts (double T-bar lift, button lift and drag lift).

The longest lift is the double drag lift with 298 meters. Nine slopes, which offer runs for every level of ability, promise skiing pleasure in the Harz Mountains. If the weather conditions are good, one can enjoy an impressive view from the 659 metres high Ravensberg up to the Brocken and as far as Thuringia.

For snowboarders there is a specially equipped snowboard area at the Ravensberg, which is located at the foot of the double drag lift.

Groups consisting of at least 15 people have the possibility to ski down the slope after dark, if booked in advance. A large floodlight then illuminates the slope at lift 1 (anchor lift) and lift 3 (plate lift) from 19.00 to 21.00.

If you still haven't had enough of the snow after skiing, discover one of the eight winter hiking trails offered by Bad Sachsa. Especially recommended is route 1, which leads over the Katzental valley past the Märchengrund and Harzfalkenhof and from there back over the section from the Harzer Grenzweg to the Schmelzteichwiese.

In the Harz mountains there are also numerous cross-country ski runs. The stage of the Südharz Loipe is the easiest and shortest tour and is therefore especially suitable for beginners. The Kaiserweg cross-country ski run, which leads from Wieda over the Wagnerskopf to the Ladestelle car park, turns out to be somewhat more demanding.

The ice rink is also a sporty place. Here visitors can choose between ice skating, ice dancing, ice hockey or curling. Every Saturday from 16.00 o'clock the ice disco for children takes place.

A lot of fun is promised by the toboggan run on the Ravensberg, which is located behind the parking lot of the ski area.
