The Ski Resort

Mohawk Mountain Ski Area is located in the Mohawk State Forest at the southern Berkshire Mountains. Its origins date back to 1947 when Walter Schoenknecht created the ski area. He is also the inventor of snowmaking. Hence, it is usually referred to Mohawk Mountain as "the home of snomaking". Mohawk Mountain Ski Area is not only the oldest but also the largest ski area in Connecticut. It offers over 43 hectares of skiable terrain. You can choose from 24 named runs. Of course, almost the whole area is covered by snowmaking which guarantees you a pleasant winter holiday without any worries about the snow.

The learning center offers a great variety of programs. Whether you are a novice or an experienced skier/rider, whether you just want to brush up your skills or you have any questions about skiing or snowboarding, staff at the Learning Center is committed to help you. There is a special learning area available so you can learn at your own pace. Taking some lessons will certainly bring you to the next level of winter fun! Such an exciting day on the mountain will most likely make you hungry. You´ll get great food at the cafeteria in the Main Lodge and at Pine Lodge located off Pine Trail!
