The Ski Resort
Galsterberg, the Gallic ski mountain in the Schladming-Dachstein region, offers winter sports fun on 15 km of slopes. Especially sporty skiers get their money's worth because half of the slopes are marked in red and black
Highlight is the 1,200 metre long Vorderkar slope (2a), which is 60 metres wide and invites you to enjoy carving. The permanent race track and a training track are also located at the descent accessible from the Kalteck top station. Beginners can explore five kilometres of slightly marked slopes. The gentler slopes of the ski area, which are ideal for beginners of alpine winter sports, are located at the top station of the gondola lift and are accessible by the button lift.
An unforgettable adventure for kids is a ride through the Gallic ski village. Here up to ten meter high snow figures, Gauls, Romans and various animals welcome the small skiers.
The Ski und Snowboard school takes care of the little ones and helps them with their first attempts on the boards. LITTLE amadeus Kinderschneeland provides fun and variety with its play castle, wave track, magic carpet, snow castle, snow tubing, ski jump and much more. Lunch is served in the children's restaurant. If you are still too young to go skiing, you can visit the indoor toddlers' group and pass the time while playing.
The Funslope at the drag lift in the centre of the ski area ensures a lot of fun on the slopes. With elements like tunnel, wave track and rainbow box it offers fun and new challenges. The ski ECG on the Galsterberg also provides an overview of the metres in altitude and kilometres of pistes covered.
The Galsterbergalm belongs to the ski centre of the Schladming-Dachstein region. Winter sports enthusiasts can explore a total of 230 kilometres of pistes here. The Galsterberg is also a member of the Ski amadé, Austria's largest ski resort with 760 km of pistes.

- Elevated between 1,000 m and 1,986 m, the Ski Resort is among the 10 highest elevated Ski Resorts in Styria. The vertical drop from summit to base is 986 m. The average difference in altitude between base and summit of Ski Resorts in Austria is 720 m. Most runs are therefore relatively long.
- Average snow depth during the season is 95 cm at summit elevation and 52 cm at base elevation. Snow coverage is usually best during February, offering an average snow depth of 116 cm at summit elevation and 65 cm at the base. Therefore Galsterberg is among the 10 ski Resorts with best snow conditions in Styria.
- Galsterberg features 43 sunny days on average per season. The average for all ski Resorts in Austria is 44 sunny days. February is the sunniest month with an average of 13 sunny days.

On Mountain Dining
The Priklalm is situated at 1,220 metres directly next to run no. 1 and the toboggan run. Culinary delicacies from Austrian cuisine, such as Tyrolean Gröstl or Kasnockerl, are served in a rustic hut atmosphere. Various live acts provide a good atmosphere.
The highest hut is the Galsterbergalm Hütte at 1,800 meters. From the sun terrace you have a great view over the Enns valley. Here the skiers and snowboarders are pampered with traditional food and farm products such as homemade goat cheese. Speciality of the house is the "Steirische Panther", a delicious, unique drink.
From Berggasthof Bottinghaus parents can watch their little ones in the Kinderland. The self-service restaurant in the heart of the ski resort lures you to a cosy break with its Kaminstüberl and sun terrace. Regional delicacies, homemade soups, healthy salads or a delicious Kaiserschmarrn are served with here.

Activities
Day and night, the five-kilometre-long natural toboggan run invites you to some tobogganing. Children in particular enjoy the ride, which leads from the top station of the gondola down to the valley.
You can also glide over the frozen surface on two skates while ice skating. Those who want to enjoy the winter nature should explore the winter hiking trail on the Galsterbergalm. Again and again, wonderful views into the Ennstal valley open up and interested people can find out about artificial snow along the way.

By car:
The city of Mozart Salzburg is about 125 km away from the ski resort. The best way is to follow the Tauern motorway A10 to Altenmarkt im Pongau and then turn onto the E651. Via Schladming to Pruggern. Turn right there and after a few hundred metres you will reach the base station. From Linz it is about 150 km to the Galsterbergalm. On the A9 (Pyhrn motorway) take exit 69 (Liezen). There change to the E651, which leads to Pruggern. Turn right and follow the road to the base station. There are plenty of parking spaces on site.
Public transportation:
If you want to travel by plane, you can fly to Salzburg. From there, inexpensive shuttle buses take winter sports enthusiasts to the Schladming-Dachstein region. The railway station of Pruggern is located on the international railway line Salzburg - Bischofshofen - Schladming - Selzthal - Bruck – Graz. There are ski buses at the ski area.
