Cross-Country Skiing Maribor Pohorje

There are over 36 kilometres of groomed trails around the World Cup venue in Maribor. The tracks in Areh are between 1.3 and 6 kilometres long and are suitable for every level. A high plateau, snow-covered forests, and the Pohorje Mountains make cross-country skiing in Maribor a special experience.

For those who can't decide between skiing and cross-country skiing, Pohorje is exactly the right destination for a winter holiday: the cross-country trails are located right next to the skiing slopes, so both sports can be practised simultaneously.

In Areh you can choose between five different trails. You can choose from easy or challenging trails ranging from 1.3 to 6 kilometres in length, depending on your ability. Although the terrain is rather flat, the Pohorje Mountains impress with their unspoiled landscape. A highlight is the church of St. Areh right next to the Ruška hut. The trails are all well signposted and always show you where you are.

If you are travelling by car, there are plenty of parking facilities on site.

• in Graz in Austria, 85 kilometres away, and
• in the town of the same name, Maribor. (Only a very small, rarely used airport).
