The Cross-Country Area

In the middle of the French holiday region Portes du Soleil lies the high plateau of Avoriaz with the winter sports resort of the same name. 7 cross-country trails and 29.5 kilometres of classic cross-country skiing are available to you there. Whether you are a beginner or a professional - there is something for all levels. With 22 kilometres classified as "difficult" to "very difficult", the area is particularly suitable for advanced cross-country skiers.

It is recommended to enter the cross-country skiing network from the French winter sports resort of Avoriaz, where guests have free access to the trails. But the Super-Morzine gondola and the Zore chairlift also take you comfortably from Morzine to the start of the trails.

The Most Beautiful Tracks

Experienced skiers will get their money's worth on the circular trail La Croix des Combes. It is 12 kilometres long and runs from the Altiport in Avoriaz to Super Morzine. The 6-kilometre Le Proclou trail leads through dense spruce forests. Thanks to its altitude (1,600 - 1,800 m), it has a good snow guarantee and offers a beautiful panoramic view in some places.

Overview of the trails in the Avoriaz cross-country skiing centre:

  • Stade de la Chapelle: circular trail / 0.5 km / marked green (easy).
  • Liaison Altiport: 1 km / marked blue (medium)
  • Le Lièvre: circular / 2.5 km / marked blue (medium)
  • Les Crêtes: 3,5 km / blue marked (medium)
